About Me

My photo
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who lived but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now lived in the flesh I lived by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave His life for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Building on a Rock

This will somehow help you to know where  to build. Just like building a house, one should have a firm foundation. The ROCK, JESUS CHRIST, should be the foundation for you to stand amidst circumstances.

There are two kinds of responses in listening to the word of God:

First, Hearing the word of God and making it into actions. One does not just hear and hear and hear, but he also listen and act upon it. Second, those who hear the word but didn't pay attention to what it says, as if nothing happens.

1. WISE - Those who hear and obey is like a wise builder building a house on a rock. When rains, floods, winds, and beatings come, he doesn't easily carried away. Rains might be a blessing or a curse, floods are problems or hindrances, winds may describe the different teachings and doctrines that arise these days, and beatings are persecutions and pains one will experience as he builds the house (faith). But because of a firm foundation (JESUS CHRIST), he will stand and will endure till the end.

2. FOOL- Those who hear the word of God but doesn't obey it. The foolish builder heard, understood, was interested, and was greatly influenced by the teachings of the Lord, and these were all features that were worthy of commendation. There is much to be said for the foolish builder, but he failed in the things that he did not do.

Jesus said that the storm will attack all men, wise and foolish. The families that survive will be the ones who made their decisions based on the Bible. What "storms of life" do families struggle with today? (illness, arguing among family members, natural disasters). Where will we find the answers on how to survive? the Bible.
